It was elegance and dramatic chic at the reception party for Allan Knight of Dallas. The event was held in our resort community of Palm Desert at The Egg and Dart Showroom. Allan’s high brow accessory minded furnishings line is true theatre. My absolute favorite and to be put into “The Miller Young Design Collection” is the couture upholstered bed. It features imported fabrics trimmed in polished platinum nail heads and crystal acrylic Palm Beach or cabriole legs. With the classic Palm Beach bed known for its tapered leg, and the Chambord bed linked to the past in cabriole – these luxurious beds were floating on a rim of platinum nail heads that sparkled like diamonds. For Miller Young Design the beauty of these timeless classic pieces is that they can be also dressed and finished in a Ralph Lauren kaki, safari fabric and have a wood distressed Palm Beach or cabriole leg. Then I can see placing this in the homes where making statement for the affluent needs to be individualized to their personal style. Here it is, any way you wish, in any bedroom setting, the possibilities are endless, and so is the beauty of couture design.

Interior Design on The Runway

This week, I will be attending WESTWEEK, Los Angeles and Fashion Week, El Paseo. Exquisite furnishings and fashion runways fitting this into an already busy schedule is harder than getting into the size 4 pencil thin suits and dresses I’ll be sporting to the shows!

I’m a believer in high-end luxury markets previews like WESTWEEK tailored to the lifestyle of our clients. This gives us an up close look at what we are going to offer this year. Luxury minded clients expect the designer to not only know design, they expect practical knowledge of the latest and archived products, fixtures and amenities that are to be perfectly assimilated into their homes and projects. Total Luxe! This is a week for admirers and buyers of the luxury interior design market, to see the newest and the best in home furnishings at The Los Angeles posh interior design showrooms. Edelman Leather launches their first LA Showroom ever this season at The Pacific Design Center and I understand it is lavished of course with luxurious leather and the most stunning showroom in that location. I will be there!

The same week, I will be attending “The Great White Tent.” Fashion minded trend spotters are to view models in couture dresses adorned in jewels toting the finest designer handbags. I can’t miss this! What a week.
