Tere and her husband, Stanbery, a Seattle trust and estate lawyer, live in Clyde Hill. Her daughter, Moya, works with her as Director of Operations and lives in Medina. Her son, David, has rejoined her team as a showing agent after serving in Operation Iraqi Freedom with the United States Marine Corps. David also lives in Bellevue.

Tere is an active member of the Eastside community. She serves on the board of the Bellevue Boys and Girls Club and is a past-board president. Tere is also a supporter of the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center and the Washington Policy Forum.
